Distinction for the quality of our partner wines

News from 22/11/2011

As usual the summer and autumn months have seen the publication of a host of wine guides and reviews, each rating the best wines and winemakers in France.  We are proud to note that wines from each of our partner vineyards have been selected among the finest wines in France, and have been featured in the most prestigious of these reviews.

Congratulations to our winemakers who work tirelessly to produce their wines to the highest quality.

Below is a small selection of the ratings and comments received:

La Revue du Vin de France millésime 2010

Allegria

La Revue du Vin de France, N° 552 June 2011, 2010 Vintage in Languedoc :

Tribu d’A 2010 Coteaux du Languedoc Pézenas red. Great success.  “This smooth and tasty wine has a nice tangy afternote.  Its welcoming style develops with finesse."

Le Guide Hachette des Vins 2012

Château Beau Rivage

Le Guide Hachette des Vins 2012 :

Le Phare 2009 Bordeaux Supérieur (Starred).  “Well known to the readers of this guide, Christine Nadalié, daughter of a cooper and œnologist by training, has engaged in converting her vineyards to being organic.  The ageing of this wine is particularly long for the appellation, but the fruit still comes through impressively.  Blackcurrant and blackberry notes marry well with those of cocoa in the nose and on the palate.  At first smooth, the body and strength of the wine comes through in the tannins which will soften after keeping for one or two years.”

La Revue du Vin de France novembre 2011

Château de la Bonnelière

La Revue du Vin de France, N° HS21, November 2011, the 450 best bottles distinguished by the RVF in 2011:

Château de la Bonnelière Chinon 2009 15,5/20. “A perfectly mastered harvest which releases a fine juice, long on the finish, fresh, dynamic and mature.  A good and regular organic winery.  You can start to drink this wine.”

Le Guide Hachette des Vins 2012

Domaine Chapelle

Le Guide Hachette des Vins 2012 :

Aloxe-Corton ”Les Petites Lolières” 2008 Premier Cru (Starred). ”… A bright ruby red, this premier cru delivers seductive raspberry and spice perfumes.  Its full body and structure which has a long finish is derived from the thick tannins which merits laying down for at least 4 years before softening.  A point to note, from 2009 the wines from the estate are organically certified.”

Le guide des meilleurs vins de France 2012

Domaine Jean-Marc Brocard

Le Guide des meilleurs vins de France 2012 :

Starred.  8 wines from the estate where recommended, including the Chablis Domaine de la Boissonneuse 2009 (14,5/20)  “At the Brocard estate, there are sure values that never disappoint…  Among their Chablis wines, the Domaine de la Boissonneuse, signed Julien Brocard, is winning its stripes among the sure values, with its full and fruity style.”
