Gourmet Odyssey partner wineries acclaimed by the wine press and reviews

The wine guides and reviews for 2023 have started being published. Once again this year, we’re delighted to see that the Gourmet Odyssey partner wineries have been selected in the guides and magazines for the quality of their wines.

Of course, we only select the best wines, but when you know all the hard work and dedication that our partner winemakers put in throughout the year, we’re always proud to see that their effort has been justly rewarded. Even though the quality is very important, it’s not our only selection criteria. We only work with organically certified winemakers who are engaged in protecting the environment, are passionate about their work, and want to share their passion and knowledge. All essential factors in ensuring that you share an unforgettable experience with them!

The following is a selection of ratings and comments:

	Château Coutet The 2019 vintage of the Château Coutet Saint-Emilion Grand Cru, the wine chosen for the Gourmet Odyssey Adopt-a-Vine Wine Experience, was selected in the 2023 Guide des Meilleurs Vins de France wine guide, with a rating of 93/100. “The 2019 vintage has a full flavour, a smooth body, and good depth.” The guide also gave a rating of 95/100 for the 2019 Les Demoiselles, a limited-edition wine that is made without using petrol and almost no electricity, to try and reproduce a full bottle of wine found at the winery that dates back to 1750.
	Château de Jonquières Le Guide des Meilleurs Vins de France 2023 chose the 2020 Lansade red wine from Château de Jonquières as one of their favourite picks, giving it a score of 92/100. It’s also the wine chosen for the apprentice winemakers of the Gourmet Odyssey Wine Experience. “The Lansade wine is flowery, tender, fruity with a lovely freshness, and delicate tannins.” The guide also rewarded the 2020 La Baronnie IGP Saint-Guilhem-le-Désert and 2021 Lansade white wines, the 2020 La Baronnie and White Label reds. In the wine special edition of Le Point magazine, we also find the 2020 Lansade red, acclaimed for its delicate aromas and for being smooth and refined whilst maintaining a long finish. And the magazine for bon vivants, Gueuleton, also selected the 2020 La Baronnie for its fruitiness and slightly smoky touch. “This wine is really well balanced thanks to its acidity that makes it more on the side of elegance than opulence.”
	Domaine Chapelle The Guide Carité des bonnes adresses du vin Bio 22-23 organic wine guide chose four of Domaine Chapelle’s wines, including the 2019 Clos des Cornières Santenay red, chosen for the Gourmet Odyssey adopt-a-vine experience in Burgundy. “A wine for a sophisticated dinner.” The 2023 Guide Hachette des Vins awarded Domaine Chapelle 2 stars for the 2019 Les Petites Lolières Aloxe Corton Premier Cru, and one star to the 2020 Saint Jean Santenay Village white wine, described as being a faultless Santenay that is dynamic and gourmand.
	Château Cohola At Château Cohola, the winemakers Jérôme and Chéli, are always developing new wines and researching alternative organic solutions to better protect and stimulate their vines, such as using mushrooms to help the vines get through periods of drought. They made the cover of La Vigne magazine for their “Fruit” wine, a red that they have made to be drunk chilled.
